Visitor numbers were slightly down on last year, but the CGC (Weihai) Expo still attracted a record number of exhibitors.

↑ CGC (Weihai) Expo CEO, Li Jiang, says that the show has exceeded his expectations since it was launched eight years ago.

More than 120 new companies made up the record-breaking 776 exhibitors at the sell-out CGC (Weihai) Expo last month

However, more than 400 companies missed out on the event in the heartland of world fishing tackle manufacturing because the venue could not accommodate all the businesses wanting to attend, leaving Li Jiang, CEO of the CGC (Weihai) Expo exclaiming: “The growth of the event is beyond my expectations. It has expanded so fast that we have run out of room at the Weihai International Exhibition Center. Although we have built another hall on the central square, it is still not big enough.”

Despite more exhibitors than ever, visitor numbers were down on last year’s best-ever attendance. Chinese domestic attendees totaled 2,026 (2014: 2,234) and there were 516 international buyers – down 40.

Fifteen international exhibitors came from countries including the US, France, Italy, Indonesia, Korea, Latvia, Japan and Portugal.

Next year’s event is set to take place from October 15th to 16th at the Weihai International Exhibition Center.
