Carp fishing companies have lost another avenue for print advertising with the closure of Carpworld magazine, which ceased publication from the March issue.
Writing to subscribers on its website, the magazine said: “It is with deep regret that we inform you that Carpworld has ceased publication. It may return at some point in the future, but for right now there will be no further issues.”
Carpworld was launched by Tim Paisley in 1988 and published 354 issues. It was the first carp-only publication and the first to achieve mainstream newsstand distribution. It is widely acclaimed as playing an important role in the growth of carp fishing in the UK and Europe.
The magazine was published by Angling Publications, which also owned Craft Carper, International Carper and Carp Trade, all of which are now closed. Carpworld was later acquired by Predator Publications.
