The headline – ABGESACT (called Off) – says it all as the Austrian Fishing Show becomes another victim of the global Coronavirus epidemic.

Austria’s biggest recreational fishing show is the latest casualty of the Coronavirus epidemic.

Eventjet, the organiser of the Austrian Fishing Show has pulled the plug on the 2020 show, which was due to take place on March 21 and 22.

In a statement, Eventjet said: “Due to current developments in connection with the Covid-19 crisis, it is currently not possible to hold outdoor events with more than 500 visitors and indoor events in excess of 100 people.

“It is also not possible yet to predict whether or when there will be a show in spring.”

The cancellation of the Austrian Fishing Show is another high profile fishing event to be cancelled or axed altogether across the globe and follows in the footsteps of high profile events that include China Fish and the Korean International Fishing Show (Kofish).
