Former Leeda Brand Manager Stuart Beard has been appointed European Brand Manager (Okuma and Imax) at Svendsen Sport.
He is the second Leeda employee to join the Danish company recently, following the appointment in October of his former Managing Director, Richard Taylor, as Svendsen’s UK Country Manager.
Beard first joined Leeda in a marketing and product support role before being promoted to Brand Manager for the Leeda product range in June 2013. He had previously spent two and half years at Stapeley Angling Centre and before that was the business owner at Exmoor Country Sporting.
His latest move follows the restructure of Leeda and the transfer of the business from Redditch to Milton Keynes. Although offered a position in the new set-up, Beard decided that the extra travelling time from his Bridgnorth home was too far.
“Given that it meant another two-and-a-half to three hours’ driving, commuting wasn’t an option,” he told Angling International. “Now I’m really looking forward to the new role at Svendsen. I can’t wait to get started.”
Beard will be working from both the UK and Europe and will report directly into CEO, Lars Svendsen, at the company’s HQ in Gadstrup, Denmark.
