It has been business as usual for award-winning fishing rod component supplier American Tackle during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Florida-based company, supplier of the MicroWave Line Guide System, says that it is dedicated to remaining open to service the needs of its customers in the US and across the globe. And its co-owner, Darrin Heim, believes that its actions will help it emerge from the crisis stronger.
He told Angling International: “It is an opportunity for us to steel a march on our competitors who have closed their businesses during the pandemic. When some semblance of normality returns you have to be prepared, and we believe that staying open will help us in that respect.
“We are taking safety precautions by maintaining mandated distancing, using PPE and following state operating guidelines.
“Around half of our workforce is operating remotely and we are fully staffed. While our showroom is currently closed, we are available via email and telephone to provide technical support for all industry and custom builder inquiries.
“We are 100% operational. There are a lot of rod builders out there who are still working and being open for business is important to them.”
