American Tackle agrees global marketing deal

American Tackle has announced a global marketing deal with Jigskinz.

On the eve of EFTTEX, American Tackle announced that it had reached a distribution agreement to market a product that is tipped to ‘revolutionise’ the lure industry.

The US company, a former EFTTEX Best New Products Award-winner with its MicroWave Guide System, has reached a global distribution agreement with JigSkinz® of Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Jigskinz is a highly durable, shrinkable plastic sleeve that allows anglers to apply an actual digital fish image, new pattern, colour or finish to any lure in seconds by using hot water or a heat gun.

“This new product will revolutionise the lure industry,” predicts its inventor and patent-pending holder, Courtland Babcock. “Now with the marketing reach of American Tackle we plan on expanding our product offerings to include the bass market as well as the prominent species of the EU and Asia.”

American Tackle says that the initial plan is to attack largemouth bass and Northern European predator fish markets. “We will then expand into other prominent species-specific sectors wherever they are around the world.”

The RealLife patterns are expanding weekly with the company’s Herring, Mackerel, Menhaden, Perch, Squid, Ballyhoo Sand Eel and Minnow already on sale. “With this list we have a lot of the saltwater patterns needed for domestic markets,” said Babcock. “We want to shift focus a bit and exploit the largemouth bass market which we think this product is perfect for.”

JigSkinz means that any angler can match the bait on any lure he has in his tacklebox. “Imagine you have everything in your box but a shad pattern and the bass are hitting shad. You can shrink a shad pattern on any lure you need – whether it’s a deep diver, suspended or crankbait – and you are in business,” added Babcock.
