Rod brand Airrus sets up US subsidiary to boost sales

A US subsidiary has been set up to sell the award-winning Airrus rod brand in North America.

The new company, Airrus US, has been formed by rod and lure maker, Bass & Pike Tackle of Italy, to ensure that the four-times ICAST-winning rod range is fully accessible to dealers throughout the United States.

The company is being headed by National Sales Manager Joe Alfe and is based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Alfe told Angling International: “Dealers loved the product, but could not get hold of it in the past. This new arrangement will expand distribution and improve customer service response, both of which were limited under its former arrangement.

“My number one goal is to be accessible to dealers always. We are currently contacting our partners and telling them how things have changed. The response has been very encouraging and they are very happy that they can now get rods without any hassle.”

The rods will be sold alongside the two lure brands owned by Bass & Pike Tackle of Italy – Laboratio and Legio. The latest generation of Airrus rods feature designs from the late Ken Whiting, who created the original E21 Carrot Stix and Duckett MicroMagic rod lines as well as the Airrus models.

Airrus US stocks the Nano Fusion spinning and casting rods, designed by Whiting, as well as the Alano Power line of spinning rods. All Airrus models, including eight new Micro PulsX and Micro Puls2, are also available.

Owned by Francesco Dotto, Bass & Pike Tackle of Italy is the parent company of Airrus and based in Terni, Italy.
