AFTCO ‘blown away’ by success of Buy 1 Give 1 Mask Programme

Award-winning US apparel supplier AFTCO has given away 70,000 masks as part of its Buy 1 Give 1 Mask Programme.
The company says it has been ‘blown away’ by the success of the initiative which has seen it donate 20,000 fishing face masks and 50,000 disposable ones.
It says: “We have learnt a lot through this journey, including how thankful we are for the fishing and outdoor community. As we coordinated the distribution of some of the masks with our retail partners, we quickly found that many were thankful for the fishing masks, but a disposable style better suited their needs. In these instances, we donated at least three for every one fishing mask sold.”
The masks have been given to police and fire departments across the country, the Department of Natural Resources, retirement homes, homeless shelters and dozens of local community organisations.
AFTCO adds: “The opportunity to provide these masks has inspired our employees and provided a sense of purpose to help wherever we can during this challenging time. The overwhelming positive feedback we received has bolstered our camaraderie with so many fellow Americans.
“In addition to retail stores and local businesses, we have shipped masks to agencies on the frontline in the service of our communities.”
AFTCO – the American Fishing Tackle Company – is one of the oldest businesses of its kind in the US and won two awards at last year’s ICAST trade show.
