The representative body for the fly fishing trade in the United States has reached a memorable milestone, surpassing the 1,000 membership mark.
It is a tribute to American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) President, Ben Bulis and his team. “When I was appointed to the role we might have had 250,” remembers Bulis. “We used to have to beg people to join our Board of Directors.
“It has been the hard work and commitment of our Board and staff that has helped us reach this point. Day-in and day-out we have worked hard to ensure that our industry has a strong, unified voice on issues that are vital to our livelihood.
“And it is the dedication of our entire industry to the health of their businesses, our fisheries and welcoming more people to our sport that inspires us as an association to do what we do.
“I could not be more proud of this community.”
AFFTA hosts the International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) show, the world’s largest event of its kind for the fly fishing industry. This year, it will be returning to its spiritual home in Denver, Colorado, from October 16 to 18.
