Abu Garcia agrees new sponsorship of FLW and MLF

Pure Fishing brand, Abu Garcia, has agreed a new sponsorship with FLW and MLF which gives it title sponsorship of the FLW College Fishing circuit.

Abu Garcia, one of the leading lights in the multi-brand Pure Fishing business, has agreed a sponsorship deal with Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) and Major League Fishing (MLF).

Under the deal, it immediately takes over the title sponsorship of the FLW College Fishing circuit. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This sponsorship is yet another way for us to support bass fishing at grassroots level, ensuring these talented collegiate anglers have a venue in which to compete,” said Jon Schlosser, Vice President of Marketing at Abu Garcia.

“College bass fishing provides an important step in the careers of so many junior anglers, whether they go onto fish for a living or simply for fun.”

Abu Garcia will also receive exposure across all FLW and MLF media platforms, including websites, all tournaments, exhibitions and television programming. 

MLF acquired FLW in October last year. “Abu Garcia has been a terrific partner of MLF since before we launched the Bass Pro Tour and we value its expanded support as we’ve grown to include the FLW properties,” said MLF President and CEO, Jim Wilburn. “Its title sponsorship of the College Fishing circuit is a perfect fit.” 

The College Fishing circuit kicked off last week at Lake Seminole, Bainbridge, Georgia, and culminates in November at Lake Hartwell, Anderson, South Carolina.
