VIDEO: Zico delivers OEM service with a warranty

The launch of the Unicarp II bite indicator has boosted sales in the sector by more than 20% for manufacturer Zico. Now the Czech Republic company has plans to develop exclusive OEM sales partnerships in EU countries to drive sales even higher.
The indicator carries a three-year warranty which, says Zico, gives it a significant competitive advantage in the ‘affordable’ sector of the market.
“There are a lot of cheaper producers in the market and products of unknown quality that do not have a warranty,” said company owner Miroslav Zidek. “By providing a warranty we take the risk from the customer.”
The impact of the Unicarp II, which targets the middle-market sector, has added an exciting new dimension to Zico’s strategy by adding an international perspective.
“I see strong prospects for global markets,” added Zidek. “We have had interest from the US, the UK, Germany and Hungary, as well as our existing markets in Europe. From the beginning we have targeted retailers and retail chains who want their own original product for their market.”
The Unicarp II is the result of customer demand coupled with in-depth research into the market. It is easy to operate, original in design and has unique functions, says the manufacturer.
Features contained in its contemporary curved body shape include an Incognito function to avoid disturbing neighbouring anglers, a back light and an anti-theft device. The receiver has been tested at more than 200 metres and will pair with a maximum six indicators.
Zico also produces bivvies, bedchairs, boats and accessories, but indicators command the biggest share of its turnover. Now the company is working on the development of new models in line with the needs of its trade customers and modern carp fishermen in EU markets.
