Retailers preparing for the January on-sale date of the new Quantum Exo PT reels are being directed to a special micro-site which shows the inner engineering of what parent company Zebco believes are the most radically re-imagined reels on the market today.
The new high-tech Quantum Exo micro-site includes 360° visuals of the two reels in the series, the Exo PT Baitcast and the Exo PT Spinning. Each reel can be ‘taken apart’ for a closer look at the internal engineering.
There are also nine videos including pro anglers like Kevin Vandam, Al Lindner, Shaw Grigsby and Bill Dance putting the reels through their paces plus crush tests to prove the reels’ huge strength despite their lightness. Full specifications for both reel series are also included.
The secret of the Exo PT reels lies in their exoskeletal design, which sheds excess weight without sacrificing strength and performance. A special, ultra-rigid aluminium alloy is used in load-bearing areas while a lightweight composite reduces weight in non-critical areas by 50%.
“We’ve questioned conventional wisdom to find a better way to design reels,” says Zebco, which launched the Exo PT reels to the trade in the US at ICAST in July. Now, with the January on-sale date fast approaching, Zebco is backing its claims with a high-profile marketing campaign centred on the dedicated micro-site.
The new Quantum Exo PT will also be featured in the December Reels Special issue of Angling International, which will be mailed to subscribers at the end of November.
