Zebco Brands announces retirement of Jeff Pontius

Jeff Pontius, President and CEO of Zebco Brands, will retire next month after 20 years with the global fishing tackle manufacturer.
He will be replaced by Steve Smits, President of Zebco North America. The changes were announced this morning in an internal memo to staff by Mark Olivié, President and CEO of Zebco Brands’ parent company, W.C. Bradley Co.
Pontius began his career with Zebco in 1998 and has worked to grow the business through organic and acquisitive growth. He oversaw the additions of Fin-Nor, Van Staal, Vortex Outdoors (Badlands), Zebco Europe, Preston Innovations and the expansion of Zebco and Quantum.
Olivié added: “Jeff has always been an active proponent of the fishing industry, serving on a number of boards including the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF), the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame and the Fish America Foundation. He was also awarded the W.C. Bradley Co. Spirit Award. Most importantly, he has mentored and developed strong leaders throughout his 20-year career at W.C. Bradley Co..”
Pontius will be retiring on June 15, but will remain available to Zebco Brands as a consultant until mid-2019.
