One of North America’s best-known lure brands has secured a deal that will see its products distributed throughout Germany, Austria and Belgium.
Z-Man Fishing Products has shaken hands with European distributor, Camo Tackle of Germany, to handle sales in the three countries.
Based in Ladson, South Carolina, Z-Man has been enjoying what its National Sales Manager, Glenn Young, describes as incredible growth in the US. He said: “Germany has been a market that we have been looking at for some time, but we have been so busy keeping up with explosive growth in the US that we have not had time to actively seek out a distributor there.
“Camo was referred to us through a mutual industry friend. We have actually been selling in a few other European countries – which piqued Camo’s interest – and prompted them to ask about Z-Man’s availability in Germany.
“We have received enquiries from other distributors in Germany, but none had the experience, resources or track record that Camo has. It is difficult for us sitting in America to know who is really a good distributor in another country or just a good talker.
“Camo was able to provide an established record of success and show that it has a well established customer base that it can sell the Z-Man brand to.”
Camo will carry a wide range of Z-Man products, with its primary focus on the ElaZtech soft plastics. Young added: “They feel strongly that its durability, buoyancy, softness, action and non-toxic aspects will really appeal to German anglers.
“This is a huge deal for Camo because right now Z-Man is one of the fastest growing brands, not just in the US, but in several other countries. To be able to come on board right now is ideal timing for them and we have the range of product that can achieve success just about anywhere.”
