The Wychwood specimen brand has responded to the popularity of its Solace MLT (multi-layer technology) family of rods by launching two new ranges for specimen and predator anglers.
Designed to retain the build quality and features of existing Solace rods, the new additions target mainly barbel, tench, chub and big bream anglers, with five options to choose from.
Wychwood has introduced three Specimen models, two at 12 ft with 1.75lb and 2.25lb test curves, and a 13-ft version at 2.5lb. Lighter choices are provided by the Avon and the Specialist, both at 1.25lb.
Features include quality cork handles, unlocking screw reel seats, braid-friendly rings with gun metal trim and a hook keeper ring. Buoyed by reaction to previous Solace models, Wychwood is confident they have another big seller on their hands.
The UK company believes the versatility of the new Solace rods will appeal to a broad tranche of specimen anglers, maintaining that individual rods in the range are equally at home trotting for chub and barbel as they are for fishing floating baits for carp.
Predator anglers are catered for with a seven-rod selection in the new Agitator range, developed to cover everything from casting big deadbaits to flicking small lures.
The three bait rods are 12 ft (3lb), 10 ft 6 ins (3.5lb) and 10 ft (2.75lb). Lure rods come in 9 ft, 8 ft and 7 ft models, at 60-100gm, 20-60gm and 20-60gm respectively. Completing the line-up is the 9 ft Agitator Jig.
In each case, the high-modulus matt blanks are finished with braid-friendly, triple-leg rings with gunmetal trim, cork handle, screw lock reel seat and hook keeper ring.
Both the Specimen and Agitator ranges come with Wychwood’s lifetime warranty policy.
