Wiley X, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of polarised protective eyewear, has expanded its global distribution with the appointment of a distributor in one of the world’s biggest markets.
Denmark-based Wiley X EMEA agreed a deal with the NRG Group at this year’s EFTTEX in Budapest to sell its award-winning sunglasses in Russia.
Andrey Ralnikov, one of the Managing Partners at the NRG Group, said: “More and more consumers in Russia seek high quality eyewear for everyday life. The trend in the market is to spend more money on quality products that will last longer and provide high performance.
“We are proud to introduce Wiley X to our customers because we believe it is a brand that always has a high priority to deliver quality and maximum eye protection. We always strive to work with companies with advanced technology and Wiley X is such a company. We are sure that our cooperation will be successful in the future.
“Without doubt the Russian market has been waiting for a brand like this for a long time.”
Thomas Wæver, Wiley X EMEA Vice President and Outdoor Director, added: “Russia has always been an important market for Wiley X and we have had different possibilities to sign distributors there for the fishing market. Having followed the NRG Group for more than a year and seen how it has managed to grow a great product like Deeper throughout the country, I was convinced that it was the right match.
“I expect a lot from them. I am confident that we will witness significant growth over the forthcoming months and years. So far it has been extremely professional in its business approach.”
Wiley X capped a successful EFTTEX in Budapest by winning the sunglasses and headwear category in the Angling International-sponsored Best New Product Awards with its WX Boss with Kryptek coloured frame.
