World Fishing Tackle (WFT) announced a new distribution deal at today’s EFTTEX show that could see the German company’s fishing lines sold in more than 20 Chinese provinces.
Talking exclusively to Angling International, WFT revealed an agreement with Weihai Sugiura Fishing Tackle, a 20-year-old company with strong import and own-brand businesses.
“We are very happy and excited to find another strong partner for our international lines,” said WFT’s Managing Director, Christian Dibisch. “They have already placed substantial orders for Gliss KG, KG Strong and KG 12+1.
“We have known each other for more than 20 years and, with the Chinese domestic market now more organised, this is a good time for us to work together.
“The sales forecast they have given us for next year is very exciting. Over the years they have proven to be a very reliable company. They are a very realistic company and financially strong.
“The agreement has started with line, but we are happy for them to become our sole distributor in China for more of our product lines as time goes on.”
Weihai Sugiura became interested in the deal after their research into the acceptance and pricing of WFT lines in the Chinese market came back extremely positive.
