Danish tackle manufacturer Westin has continued its expansion across Europe with the appointment of a sales representative in Poland.
The move follows a meeting with Pawel Kiermaszek at EFTTEX in Warsaw earlier this year.
Westin’s Product and Marketing Manager, Thomas Sanotra, told Angling International: “The Polish market has been on our radar for a number of years, but we wanted to wait until we had the right point of entrance. We see great potential in Poland which, along with Germany and France, is one the biggest lure fishing countries in Europe.
“It has strong predator and sea fishing sectors and Polish anglers have a tradition of traveling to Norway for the cod and halibut fishing.”
Kiermaszek currently works for UK-based carp brand, Kevin Nash, but has already started to stock Westin products. “Pawel is the perfect match for us,” added Sanotra. “He brings a good insight into the Polish market and has a sense for high quality products through his association with Kevin Nash.”
Sanotra revealed that Westin and its new Polish representative will be at the Angling Fair Rybomania, in Poznan, in February next year, where the company will have a booth.
He added that Westin is set to launch its first-ever consumer catalogue which will be available in a number of languages, including Polish.
Polish retailers will be supplied direct from Westin’s Danish warehouse with an expected lead-time of four to five days from receipt of order.
