When Savage Gear wanted to create the most lifelike trout swimbait out there, they turned to the real thing. The Scandinavian brand used a combination of 3D scanning and 3D modeling to produce a bait that looks and swims as close to a real trout as possible.
The 3D Trout Rattle Shad has a removable glass/steel rattle in the tail and a big roll paddle tail that, combined with an integrated balancing weight, produces a rocking swimming action that provides a number of performance options.
“It is superb for both casting and trolling and has an escape pattern just like a real trout,” says Savage Gear’s Head of Product Development, Mads Grosell. “It doesn’t fall in a spiral but actually swims when you give it free line or fish it on the drop. It can be fished on a steady retrieve and is also really good at low speeds.”
The 3D trout comes in 20.5cm and 17cm versions, plus a 12.5cm smolt size. It is armed with tournament quality hooks.
