A flamboyant performer with enough glitz, glitter and showmanship to make Liberace look like a wallflower.
That’s how Northland Tackle describes its new Bro Bling Jig, a lure designed to attract jumbo panfish, walleye and other species as it glides, flickers and flashes it way through the water.
It is the newest addition to the Minnesota company’s Bro’s Bug Collection of jigs – named after ice fishing expert Brian ‘Bro’ Brosdahl – which hang vertically due to a strategically-placed dorsal line tie.
The Bro Bling Jig has a flat belly that causes a darting and gliding action. And then of course there’s the fish-attracting bling. A shiny silver blade dangles from a body-mounted split ring. Sparkly glitter is sprinkled generously along the body as an added incentive to perch, crappie, bull bluegills and walleyes.
“Stem to stern, top to bottom, this jig is one ostentatious little leadhead,” says Brosdahl, the lure’s chief designer.
“When fish move in to check out the commotion, its oversized bug eyes and realistic larva shape help seal the deal. And it’s perfect with scented softbaits like Northland’s new Impulse Water Flea and Skeleton Minnow or any wax-like livebait.”
The Bro’s Bling Jig is available in six colour patterns, including four optical enhanced options to boost visibility in low light conditions. It comes in two sizes – 1/16 ounce with a #8 hook and 1/8 ounce and #6 hook and is available from this Autumn/Fall.
