Preston Innovations has appointed Pascal Vermeulen as Director Europe.
Vermeulen, who leaves Spro NV/Gamakatsu after 14 years, will be responsible for expanding the Preston brands in continental Europe.
Vermeulen has a comprehensive knowledge of the industry, having previously worked for Zebco Europe and for German company D.A.M.
He will have direct oversight of Preston’s Dutch operation, Primo Distribution BV, and all of its established distributors. He will also direct the future expansion of the company’s brands, European product range and its sales structure in Europe.
Preston Innovations was acquired by W.C. Bradley, the owner of Zebco Brands, in October last year. In an interview with Angling International, Zebco Brands CEO Jeff Pontius said that growing the business in Europe would be a key priority. The appointment of Vermeulen is clearly key to that objective.
“Pascal makes a great addition to the team,” Pontius said today. “He knows the European market extremely well and is ready to drive our growth there.”
Preston said in a statement that the appointment is intended to help realise its growth potential in Europe and underscores the readiness of Zebco and W.C. Bradley to invest for the future.
“I am ready for this exciting new challenge,” said Vermeulen. “I look forward to expanding Preston’s premium brands and growing the business throughout continental Europe.”
Vermeulen will report to Jeff Pontius and will also work closely with Sarah Oldham and the Preston Innovations team in Telford in the UK, who continue to own the overall brand strategies.
The company has a strong presence in the match, coarse, carp and bait sectors of the market with its Preston Innovations, Korum, Avid Carp and Sonubaits brands.
