Umpqua’s new Zero Sweep™ luggage line, first revealed to the industry at this year’s IFTD show, is now being shipped to retailers in time for the 2015 holiday season.
And the Colorado company will be donating a percentage of every Zero Sweep sale through 2016 to Discover Courage (www.discover-courage.org) to benefit special ops veterans.
Umpqua re-entered the packs, bags and vests market in 2014 and has improved on those original concepts and products, collaborating with a leading technical outdoor pack design company and US Special Operations veterans to produce the Zero Sweep range.
The objective of the new design is to eliminate line snags through a system of sheaths, ports and attachment points for vital tools and accessories.
Retractors are attached inside the products on hard-wearing tabs and threaded through ports where tools are snag-free. Clamps are attached to snag-free clip points, partially concealing the tools in accessible locations.
Unique Zero Sweep buckles are designed to fit underneath flat web loops to leave no exposed edges on which lines can catch. The streamlined effect is further enhanced by closed-foot zipper sliders, specially designed zipper pulls and integrated external foam patches with covered edges.
“We never stopped developing these products and are confident their new functionality justifies a big change in the industry,” says Brent Bauer, Umpqua’s Director of Product. “The core features are still there, but are now partnered with a new, snag-free way to store and easily access the tools you need.”
The Zero Sweep line-up is made up of 12 products – two waist packs, four chest packs, three sling packs, a tech vest, a backpack and an organiser.
