Umpqua delivers double bonus

Customers of Umpqua Feather Merchants have a double bonus in store this month. Not only is the US firm shipping its new leaders and tippets for 2014, but it is also introducing new product packaging.
The new products benefit from investment by Umpqua’s manufacturing partner in the latest cutting edge equipment, resulting in more accurate tolerances during the extrusion process.
Umpqua Sales Manager, Riley Cotter, explained that the improvement in production quality produces greater consistency and reliability in both materials and designs.
“We feel our leaders and tippets offer the perfect strength to suppleness ratio,” said Cotter. “No sacrifices [in quality] have been made to offer products that are extra strong yet not too stiff.”
The company’s entirely redesigned packaging system emphasises product-specific information such as type, strength and length at the top of each package, allowing anglers to sort and select leaders without having to remove multiple packs from their tackle bag or vest.
“We saw an opportunity to inject innovation while at the same time make the packing look great, stand out and accurately describe the product,” said Umpqua’s Creative Marketing Manager, Luke Wennik.
Umpqua began shipping all new leader and tippet products to dealers in early March.
