Completely redesigned for 2014 is the new Talon which gives fresh and saltwater anglers the ability to anchor down to12 feet – making it the deepest shallow water anchor on the market, says Minn Kota.
“We knew anglers wanted the benefits of a shallow water anchor in deeper water,” said Minn Kota Marketing Director, Joe Brown. “The ability to anchor down to 12 feet broadens the fishing applications and expands value for anglers.”
Even with the additional anchoring depth, the height of the new Talon does not increase due to an innovative three-stage deployment system that utilises a sequential action that moves the spike vertically until it is securely anchored.
It is designed to be virtually silent, provide more anchoring options and to be used in extreme conditions. The new 10 feet and 12 feet models come in red, blue, black and silver.
Three distinct anchoring modes are available. The new Soft Bottom Mode prevents the spike from being driven too deeply into a sandy or soft mud bed by driving the spike with a single hit and less force.
The Auto-Drive Mode gives three sequential hits, using increasing force to make sure that the Talon is solidly anchored.
When conditions become choppy, the Rough Water Mode can be used. This performs three Auto-Drive sequences to maintain a secure hold.
The Talon is backed with a five-year limited warranty, plus a lifetime warranty on the spike and five-year warranty on all brackets. The Manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the 10 foot Talon is $1,849,99 (US) and $1,999.99 for the 12 foot.
