Some of the UK’s biggest tackle manufacturers have come to the rescue of the England carp fishing team.
The prospect of Team England featuring in the World Carp Fishing Championship later this year on the River Ebro in Spain looked bleak before new manager, Rob Hughes, approached the country’s top bait and tackle companies and asked them to take an equal share in sponsoring the side.
Hughes said: “I approached a number of companies, explained my plans and vision as to how the team structure should work and without exception or reservations, everyone said they were in. I couldn’t have wished for a better response.”
Thirteen companies have all offered equal financial responsibility and equipment, irrespective of who is chosen to participate.
Team England’s sponsors reads like a Who’s Who in the UK tackle industry and includes: Daiwa, Fox International, DNA Baits, Korda, Mainline Baits, Solar Tackle, Nash Tackle, Trakker, Avid Carp, Venture Carp, Sticky Baits, CC Moore and Taska International.
