One of Europe’s fastest-growing fishing tackle companies, Svendsen Sport, has appointed a marketing manager to spearhead the growth of the group’s 15 brands.
Ken Bloch-Frederiksen has made the move from the consumer goods industry to take up his new role. He was previously Marketing Manager for Scandinavian group, OBH Nordic, a manufacturer of domestic appliances.
At Svendsen Sport and DAM, Bloch-Frederiksen will work across the brands and be responsible for strategies, campaigns, social media, marketing budgets and the execution of marketing activities.
A non-fisherman, he told Angling International that being involved in the industry had opened up a whole new world. “It is totally different to what I am used to.
“The fishing industry is filled with passionate people who all love the sport. First and foremost they are anglers and they have a lot of feeling and pride in what they do.
“Svendsen and DAM are both in strong positions within their different markets. My role is to exploit that to ensure the many brands are better connected with the consumer.
“I have been amazed by the social media buzz around fishing. It is huge. There is a strong presence on sites like Facebook and it is great to join an industry that is so active and passionate.”
