Italian fishing tackle manufacturer Stoppioni has introduced two new products under its Stonfo brand that have been designed to put the emphasis firmly on fish safety and catch and release.
The Florence-based company, which has been in the industry for over 30 years, has introduced the Super Jaw Disgorger and Catch Fish Pliers. The first is a pistol grip disgorger with an ergonomic design that has been developed to deal with sharp-toothed fish that have been deeply hooked. The grip on the hook is as strong as metal pliers.
Pocket-sized, they weigh just 600g and also feature a non-slip handle and corrosion-resistant materials. “They are indispensible in catch and release as they reduce unhooking time, thus reducing the risk of damage to fish,” says Stoppioni.
The Catch Fish Pliers fall in the same category and allow the user to take the fish by the mouth without injury. The jaws of the pliers are rubber-coated and the round tips have a large contact surface. The closing force of the pliers can also be adjusted.
Lightweight, compact with high body strength, they are suitable for small to medium-sized fish. The handle is made of anti-skid rubber and it comes with an adjustable strap.
