UK tackle manufacturer Snowbee has stolen a march on its competitors ahead of the launch of the latest James Bond blockbuster.
The Plymouth-based company registered the name ‘Spectre’ – the title of the new film featuring the English super spy – as a trademark. Snowbee Managing Director Russell Weston told Angling International: “We have actually been using the Spectre name since early 2005. However another tackle company subsequently registered it.
“It has since gone out of business and with the ten-year registration term coming to an end in May, we took the opportunity to register it – perfect timing with the launch of the new 007 film imminent.
“We now have Spectre registered for all fishing tackle, including rods, reels, waders, clothing and bags.
“We hope our competitors will be shaken, if not stirred!”
