Snowbee celebrates 30 years of excellence
Fishing tackle manufacturer, Snowbee (UK), is this week celebrating its 30th anniversary.
While the company, which started in April 1984, was originally renowned for the quality of its waders, today it has grown to be equally famous for its prestigious fly lines.
Originally launched over 20 years ago under the ‘Prestige’ marque and now rebranded as the ‘XS’ range, Snowbee says its lines have ‘graced’ and ‘flattered’ the performance of rods from every brand.
Today there are over 50 different fly line options in the range, from the delicate river dry fly to reservoir ‘distance’ lines in all densities and right up to the long and powerful Salmon Spey and predator lines.
After moving to a new UK factory a number of years ago, all fly line production is now back ‘in-house’.
Snowbee adds that although the traditional ‘XS Ivory’ floating line is still the brand leader, the development of multi-coloured lines and new improved cores and primers at the new site has led to the introduction of ‘superb’ new lines like the XS-Plus XS-tra distance series and the new multi-coloured Stealth line for rivers.
The company is currently using new Nano technology in the main coating process and is set to launch what it describes as the smoothest, most aerodynamic and high floating line that modern technology can produce – the XS-Nano.
