Simms Fishing Products has stepped up its presence in the fishing footwear market with a new line of boat-ready and wading products that will be available from Spring next year.
The introductions include three new models for boat anglers based on the company’s RightAngle™ Footwear technology, which ensures the correct alignment of the wearer’s foot to enhance the prospects of a comfortable day on deck.
The Currents Shoe combines a seamless, welded upper with quick-dry mesh upper that resists water retention. Easily adjustable via a bungie lacing closure, the Currents Shoe is the company’s lightest offering in the category. The shoe has a siped sole for maximum grip and a non-marking rubber outsole. Both mens and womens models are available.
The Westshore™ Shoe and Slip On Shoe have a washed canvas upper and are designed to provide all-day comfort and support. Both have double density EVA midsoles for added shock absorption
In wading footwear, Simms has introduced the first-ever made-for-wet-wading boot, the Intruder. Available with Vibram® Megagrip rubber outsole or felt, the Intruder features an integrated Neoprene sock to block debris. Welded pads protect high abrasion areas. The boot is designed to be worn barefoot or with Neoprene wading or guard socks.
The company’s completely redesigned Headwaters™ Boot is engineered to provide reliable wading performance, with Vibram Idrogrip rubber, high denier nylon upper and dual-density midsole. The boot is also available with felt soles.
For the saltwater angler, Simms has built on the success of its Vapor Boot with the introduction of the new VaporTread® Boot – Salt. Constructed of waterproof synthetic leather, TPU textile and rubber upper, the Salt is made for tough wading in saltwater environments.
