Simms Fishing Products has partnered with Veil Camo to launch what it describes as ‘the most technologically advanced pattern we have ever released’.
Veil Camo, established in Witchita, Kansas, in 2012, specialises in patterns for outdoor enthusiasts and works with brands to bring new products to markets.
It has developed Simms’ new River Camo design process using fish species data and the effect that water and weather conditions have on variables like colour, contrast, shape and movement.
The introduction of the brand-new pattern reinforces Simms’ position as the leading authority in technical fishing gear and apparel, says the Bozeman, Montana, company.
“It is a camo that fish can’t see,” said Rich Hohne. Senior Director of Marketing at Simms. “Since deciding to work on a fish specific camo, we knew we had to partner with expertise. We wanted it to look great but, more importantly, to function on the highest level. The experts at Veil are masters of their craft.”
Simms is using the new pattern in multiple categories. It is featured in the G3 Guide Stockingfoot Wader which won the men’s wader category at this year’s IFTD show, the new Bulkley Jacket and favourites including the Kinetic Jacket and the Rogue Fleece Hoody.
The pattern can also be found in the award-winning Intruder BiComp Shirt, the EbbTide LS Shirt and the SolarFlex Hoody and Crew.
“With the influx of fishing patterns into the market, our partnership with one of the most respected brands in the industry gives us the opportunity to push the standard way ahead of what has been available,” said Veil Camo founder and designer, Joseph Skinner.
“River Camo represents two leaders in their respective fields working together to bring something far better to market.”
