Shimano hails ‘next generation’ Ex Fluoro Ocea Leader
Shimano’s new EX Fluoro Ocea Leader has been designed to provide a number of advantages to anglers dealing with fish under difficult conditions.
It has utilised the latest line manufacturing technology and strict quality controls from the world famous YGK line construction company to create what has been described as the next generation in leader materials.
The Ocea EX fluorocarbon is made in Japan and consists of three separate layers that have been chosen for their individual attributes.
It is thinner than equivalent breaking strain nylon, highly abrasion resistant and sinks faster as it doesn’t absorb water. It is also clear and less visible to fish.
The Ocea Leader has a soft core for knot strength, a hard outer shell for abrasion resistance and a fluorine coating over this to provide a smooth finish.
It comes in 50m dispenser spools with a line retainer in various breaking strains from 4lb to 100lb.
