World fishing tackle giant Shimano is set to go direct to its tackle dealers in Poland and end a 14-year association with its distributor in the country.
Shimano Europe Fishing Holding has announced that as from February 1st next year, tackle to retailers in Poland will be distributed through its recently expanded bike division warehouse in Poznan.
The distribution centre will be used to deliver both bicycle components and fishing tackle under one organisational structure. Until the move comes into place, Normark Polska will continue to sell Shimano products to Polish tackle dealers on an exclusive basis.
For the last 14 years Shimano has enjoyed a successful partnership with Normark Polska and the new arrangement will mean a change to the current operations model for both companies. Despite this new working practice, Shimano says that both firms are committed to continuing to deliver superior service to Polish customers.
Cor Ax, Managing Director of Shimano Europe Fishing Holding, said: “We believe that by focusing on each other’s own brands we can even sharpen our offering to the dealers in Poland. We look forward to the prospect of providing an enhanced service and strong commercial proposition to the market in the near future.”
Mikko Häikiö, Sales and Distribution Director, Central Eastern Europe, Rapala VMC Corporation said: “Normark Polka’s assets are strong customer focus and a broad fishing tackle brands portfolio covering all Polish fishing styles and techniques.
“We continuously work on expanding and adding new categories and products to our range to better serve the needs of our customers and provide more excitement for Polish fishermen.”
