Seagaur’s bold abrasion resistance claim on new ice line

Abrasion is the ever-present threat for all ice fishermen. Countless fish are lost when line is frayed and severed on sharp ice.
Now U.S. line manufacturer, Seaguar, believes it has developed a unique solution to the problem in a line that also meets other ice fishing requirements.
Seaguar’s AbrazX Ice is a low-memory, micro-diameter line made to resist the coils that create unnatural bait motions. Soft and supple, it also excels for knot and impact strength, even in the coldest of temperatures, says the New York company.
But most importantly, AbrazX Ice claims to have twice the abrasion resistance of any other fluorocarbon line on the market.
“It has all the technical advantages of fluorocarbon line accessible to ice anglers,” says Seaguar. “With an index of refraction nearly identical to that of water, it is virtually invisible to fish.
“The water-repellent nature of fluorocarbon resin ensures that AbrazX Ice won’t absorb water, ensuring it remains supple in below-freezing conditions.”
Unlike monofilament lines, AbrazX Ice is resistant to UV light, retaining all of its advantages even after many days of exposure to bright, mid-winter sun.
The high-density, 100% fluorocarbon gets tiny baits down into deep water more quickly than other line options, says its designers.
Available in 50-yard filler spools in 2lb, 3lb, 6lb and 10 lb tests, Seaguar’s AbrazX Ice can also be used for making leaders for tip-ups or tip-downs.
