As part of an intensive redesign process, Scientific Anglers has introduced an all-new line-up of saltwater-specific Mastery smooth fly lines.
The Redfish Warm, Redfish Cold, Bonefish and Tarpon tapers have all been redesigned for 2016 with greater emphasis on ease of casting and overall performance.
“Recently, we have spent a lot of energy promoting our textured line technology,” said Research and Development Manager Andrew Bosway. “The goal with these new tapers was to bring some brand new designs to our smooth lines – specifically in the saltwater markets.”
The Redfish lines feature more mass distributed towards the front of the line, resulting in a faster loading line for quick shots at moving fish. The Bonefish taper is concave, allowing for stronger performance in wind and excellent casting distance.
Similar to the Bonefish taper, the Tarpon is also concave to help cut through the wind, but is built in larger weight classes to enable quick loads and powerful casts without sacrificing presentation. All lines measure 100ft.
In addition to introducing these four new tapers, the award-winning Grand Slam taper has been brought into the Mastery smooth family, providing anglers a smooth line option for pursuing tarpon, bonefish and permit.
The new Mastery saltwater range will be available to dealers in September.
