Riot Baits, maker of the Fuzzy Beaver, has continued the rapid expansion of its product line with the introduction of the Recon, a bladed jig constructed from bomb-proof, made-in-the USA components.
The company says that it took three years of development to bring its latest lure to the market as it went to great lengths to ensure the Recon could withstand the rigours of tournament fishing. “We spent countless hours with custom blade shapes and connection options to optimise blade vibration and increase blade response,” the company said.
“The result of this is unprecedented action and unparalleled quality in a bladed jig at an affordable price.”
The Recon’s sleek looking head has a narrow profile with an Arkie-jig style underbelly, allowing it to skip easily and deflect structures and debris while providing a ‘flawless’ performance around weeds.
It is available in eight custom bait patterns with Riot’s signature 3D epoxy eyes. The heads are matched with premium Pro-Tie skirts in ‘stunning’ fish-catching colours. The business end is armed with an extra stout Mustad UltraPoint hook with an extended baitkeeper to ensure the trailer stays secure.
The action comes from Recon’s custom Spade Blade – described as a revolution in bladed jig design that maximises action through better hydrodynamics. Made from hardened stainless steel and featuring concave and convex sides with an angled lip, it provides rapid and consistent vibration and instantaneous response.
The Spade Blade is attached to the head via a patent-pending 1mm stainless steel clasp which provides tournament level strength.
