The recreational fishing element of Hungary’s FeHoVa Show is increasing, according to the organisers of the big outdoor consumer exhibition.
The 240 exhibitors at this year’s event represented the hunting, arms and leisure boat markets as well as angling, but fishing-related business now represents around 30% of the show, said spokeswoman Fruzsina Totth.
“We had a few more fishing companies, but lots of loyal exhibitors booked larger areas,” explained Totth. “We also have lots of well-known brands, including Okuma, Prologic, Salmo, Daiwa-Cormoran, Energofish and Haldorado.
Although final figures were still being calculated, an estimated 50,000 visitors attended the 21st FeHoVa, held over four days at Budapest’s former EFTTEX venue, Hungexpo. In the past, more than 80% of visitors have purchased product, providing a welcome boost to the outdoor sector.
Popular personalities, including World Championship star Tamas Walter, Viktor Gegeny, Ferenc Koos, Adrians Kovacs and Piotr Piskorski of Salmo, entertained crowds at the giant aquarium and lure demo pool.
