Rapala to introduce Carp Spirit into UK
Rapala-owned brand Carp Spirit is being introduced into the UK and there are plans for a purpose-built showroom in the Midlands area.
The brand, which has more than 1,000 products in its range, says retail margins will be among the most competitive available.
Product development and marketing is driven by a UK-based team headed by Product Development Manager Alan Yates. “Retailers will be able to access favourites such as Razor Point hooks and the full range of hook links and main lines made by fellow Rapala brand Sufix,” he told Tackle & Guns magazine.
“The competitive retail prices will appeal to consumers and a two-tier margin structure will offer retailers the opportunity to make excellent margin on both terminal tackle and accessories, as well as higher value items like bite alarms, bivvies and bedchairs.”
Rapala has made it clear that it sees significant opportunity in the carp sector. Carp Spirit was brought together with Dynamite Baits in the Rapala Carp Division two years ago.
A new team, new products and new packaging were introduced at EFTTEX 2016. A rebranding exercise saw all products come under a new logo from January 2017 and all packaging produced in English.
The brand has continued to gain momentum. “France is our stronghold. Now international growth is the key objective,” Alan Yates told Angling International at the time.
Carp Spirit is distributed in the UK by Normark UK. For more details contact Sales & Marketing Manager Chris Smith.
