Rand joins Salmo as Fox shapes future strategy

Fox International has appointed Matt Rand as Brand Manager of Salmo, the hard lure company it acquired five weeks ago. The role is seen as key to shaping the future strategy and direction of the Polish brand.
Rand was previously Media Manager for Fox predator brand, Rage, a role that has been filled by the company’s Benelux Media Coordinator, Roy Vanstreels.
Rand is no stranger to the hard baits sector after spending four years at Shimano Normark UK, where he worked on a number of Rapala projects.
“I knew I had to take this fantastic opportunity,” he said. “I have used Salmo lures since I was a youngster. We already have many ideas and projects that will be implemented in the coming months to help take Salmo to the next level.”
Stephen Gaunt, Marketing Director for Fox, believes Rand’s skills and experience will help grow the brand. “He has a key role in shaping Salmo’s future strategy and direction,” he said.
“The Fox Board is delighted with the talent we have in the company and this is another great example of our investment in people paying off. There is no-one better than Matt to ensure Salmo gets the continued success it deserves.”
Rand will remain involved in Rage projects, including product development.
Vanstreels has worked across the Fox, Matrix and Rage brands and the company sees his photographic skills as important in helping maintain its reputation for digital and traditional media. “Together with Brand Manager, Sylvain Legendre, I want to push the Rage brand and create content that makes people want to go fishing,” he said.
Fox Group Marketing Manager, Lewis Porter, said Vanstreels had impressed the company in his short time as Benelux Media Coordinator: “We knew we had a ready-made replacement for Matt waiting in the wings.”
