The managing director of one of Europe’s top tackle manufacturers, which was put up for sale for a reputed £25 million earlier this year, has left the company.
Preston Innovations owner David Preston has announced that Sarah Phoenix, who has been credited with the group’s rise over the last few years, has decided to stand down from her position.
Preston said: “Sarah has been with the company for eight years and her tireless effort to grow Preston Innovations in the UK and across Europe has been amazing.
“She has worked with so many people here and abroad and for this I would like to say special thanks to Sarah. When she became MD in 2010 Preston Innovations went from strength to strength. Each year she managed to increase sales and achieve growth throughout Europe even in a time of recession. Sarah pushed Preston’s to a higher position within the industry.”
In May a UK-based broker was appointed to oversee the sale of Preston Innovations and its associated brands, which include Korum, Avid Baits and Sonubaits along with its Netherlands-based Primo Distribution, the handler of its sales across Europe.
Preston said that after 30 years the business has reached a stage where it will benefit from new ownership to secure the future of the brands. He added: “Myself and all at Preston Innovations wish Sarah the best in her new career.”
