Preston Innovations signals greater intent in carp market

Mat Woods has added the position of Avid Carp Brand Manager to his current role as Korum Brand Manager.

Preston Innovations, the UK tackle company recently acquired by Zebco Brands, has announced changes to the management structure of its specimen brands.

A dual role has been created for Mat Woods, who will add the position of Avid Carp Brand Manager to his current role as Korum Brand Manager.

The move, says Zebco Brands owner W.C. Bradley, will help maximise future growth opportunities.

Jeff Pontius, President for W.C. Bradley Co. Zebco Fishing Brands, said the promotion of Woods is an indication of how seriously his company regards the carp market.

“Carp is an important part of the market and one in which we intend to participate more fully,” said Pontius. “Bringing Mat into this position reflects our desire to accelerate the growth of Avid Carp by responding to the market in a more effective way.

“It was reassuring that people inside and outside of the business kept coming to us with one name. It gives us confidence that Mat can really drive the brand in the right direction.”

Woods was involved with the launch of Avid Carp, managing the media and marketing operations. “I know the brand and its product offering. Both Avid and Korum are brands with huge potential,” he said.

“Managing Korum, I have learned a lot about how to be successful in the industry. I am sure that with the fantastic support network here at Preston Innovations we can take Avid Carp to the next level.”
