Peter Foley, one of the best known figures in the global tackle industry, has vacated the presidency of his company, Boone Bait, after 36 years in the role.
New president of the saltwater lures and accessories manufacturer is Foley’s daughter, Antoinette Foley – better known in the industry as TL.
TL began working in her father’s Florida facility in 1994 and returned to the business after college. She has been Executive Vice President of Boone for the past five years and is already a familiar figure at tackle trade shows including ICAST and EFTTEX.
Peter Foley now becomes Vice Chairman, but has no plans to slow down. “I will continue to work just as hard as I have always done,” he said. “But it makes sense for TL to assume the role of President. Her contribution to the company over a long period of time is fully deserving of it.”
Peter Foley owned 50 per cent of the company for seven years before first becoming President in 1983 following the death of his partner. Boone Bait, located in Winter Park, near Orlando, sells products in more than 70 countries around the world.
