Peak Fishing continues to hit the heights

Peak Fishing has posted 20% year-on-year sales growth for 2013, its sixth consecutive sales increase. The gains come on the back of strong domestic sales and new distribution agreements in Europe and the UK.
Announcing the news in the same week as he revealed a new distribution partnership in Canada, Peak’s owner and President Allen Schulz said the company was ramping up production to meet increased demand.
“We are committed to continued growth in production and in our dealer and end-user base as we enhance Peak’s visibility in the fly fishing and tying community,” he added. “We advertise in consumer and trade publications, on the internet, through the IF4 tour and with TV advertising on the WFN and WildTV.
“We also have an active pro staff of international tiers who appear at shows and shops to provide fly tying demonstrations and instruction. These efforts help showcase the quality, functionality and economy of our products, which in turn has led to more consumers seeking them out, specifically from their local dealers.”
Schulz explained that Peak continues to seek additional dealers and distributors, the latest of which is Gaspe Fly Company (GFC) in Quebec. Peak already has an established dealer network in Canada and will remain the primary warranty/service point, but believes the new partnership will enable it to service dealers more efficiently and economically and to more easily expand the network.
GFC joins existing distributors Turrall in the UK and BWO Products in mainland Europe. “We have seen significant sales growth in the US and feel we are now building a strong distribution network that positions us well internationally as well,” said Schulz.
GFC President David Bishop said the new agreement would enable Canadian dealers to forgo hassles of cross-border shipping, to combine their purchases of other fly tying materials and to save overall on shipping. “This makes GFC a great choice for shops to get all their needs, especially their vises. We are committed to making all Peak products available at exactly the same price as if they were importing from the US. We will have full representation from coast to coast to ensure all shops see these great products.”
Peak Brand Manager Alan Ritt added: “GFC is also the Canadian distributor for Montana Fly Co. and Shadow Flies and David is a product rep for brands including Hardy and Pure Fishing. He visits many dealers and meets face to face with owners. That added personal contact will benefit both our dealers and Peak Fishing.”
Ritt indicated that export sales are expected to show continued growth as new distributors and dealers come on board. “Sales for 2014 are already showing a continued upward trend,” he revealed.
