Brandon Palaniuk has parted company with his sponsors Pure Fishing to join the ZOOM Bait Company.
The two-time Bassmaster Elite Series Champion and former BASS Nation Champion is one of the hottest properties on the tournament circuit, but has taken a cut in money by moving to the Georgia company.
“The word is out – I couldn’t be more happy to join forces with ZOOM,” Palaniuk wrote on Instagram. “I’ve always said if the opportunity was there to align with the best products in the business I would do just that, even if it meant taking less money.”
Palaniuk said he had better financial opportunities to work with other companies, but believes ZOOM gives him the best chance of success. “I have always had a lot of faith in its products and when the opportunity came for me to explore new partnership options, ZOOM was my first choice. The brand has been setting industry standards for years. We’ve all used baits like the Super Fluke, Trick Worm, Horny Toad and Super Chunk.”
ZOOM Bait’s General Manager, Eddie Wortham, said Palaniuk is representative of the best young talent in the Bassmaster Elite Series. “We are thrilled he will be fishing our baits next year,” he added.
The BassFan website reports that Pure Fishing has been reducing its pro staff as parent company, Newell Brands, seeks to cut costs.
The ZOOM Bait Company was founded by Presiden Ed Chambers in 1977 and now operates from a 40,000 square foot facility in the small town of Watkinsville, north-east Georgia.
