Oxylane growth includes first Decathlon stores in Bulgaria

Oxylane has increased its number of Decathlon stores worldwide to over 700.

The Oxylane Group, owner of the French retail giant, Decathlon, opened a further 74 stores in 2013 to take its total number of outlets across the world to 723.

The group also reported a 6.1% increase in total sales to €7.4 billion as it pledged to cut the cost of shopping. During 2013 it slashed the prices of 1,400 products by an average of 14%.

“The purchasing power of our customers will be improved in 2014 as it was last year,” it says in its annual report. “This permanent low price position has been praised by our customers.”

During 2013 Decathlon opened the first of two in stores in Bulgaria, taking it into its 20th country globally.

Decathlon’s store portfolio now includes (new openings in 2013 in brackets):

France 258 (3), Spain 100 (2), Italy 89 (4), Poland 33 (4), Portugal 22 (1), Germany 21 (3), Belgium 16 (1), Hungary 16 (3), UK 14, Romania 12 (2), Czech Republic 7 (5), Turkey 6 (2), Netherlands 3, Sweden 2 (1), Bulgaria 2 (2), Brazil 16 (2), India 10 (6), China & Taiwan 80 (25) and Russia 16 (4).
