Northland sets sights on Scandinavian market

US ice fishing brand Northland Tackle is targeting the Scandinavian market following a visit to EFTTEX.

The company is looking to expand its reach globally after a period during which it ‘reconstructed’ the way it did business. Eric Naig, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, visited the show for the first time since Northland made its one-and-only appearance at EFTTEX four year ago.

He said: “Northland is the leading ice fishing brand in the US and the time is now right for us to broaden our horizons. We feel that the product range we have fits well for anglers in some regions in Europe – particularly the Scandinavian and Nordic countries.

“Those will be our initial targets and we will take it from there.”

During a fact-finding mission on the eve of the show, Naig and Ryan Gerads, International Sales Manager, visited tackle shops in the Netherlands and Germany. “We wanted to see what was out there and learn about how they operate. We left thinking that there is definitely a market for us,” added Naig.
