Al Noraker has left Eagle Claw after 15 years to join New York manufacturer Eposeidon, where he becomes Product Development Director of the company’s KastKing and MadBite brands.
His appointment is likely to accelerate the company’s further expansion into fly fishing and new product categories.
The move marks a significant career change for the Montana native from the traditional retail environment to e-commerce markets.
Noraker, who will oversee the development of all the company’s new tackle, has a background in strategic planning, domestic and international manufacturing supervision, retail merchandise management and global procurement.
He spent more than 20 years with Fred Meyer Stores in Portland, Oregon, where he was Group Vice President and Director of Homes Hardlines, before joining Eagle Claw in Denver, Colorado.
He is also a published outdoor writer and hosts the nationally syndicated America’s Outdoor Journal television series.
“After my time at Eagle Claw, I’m now thrilled to leave behind a career based on selling through traditional retail channels to focus on the fastest-growing segment of consumer spending, e-commerce,” he said.
Fly fishing is Noraker’s chief interest, but he is also adept with either spinning or casting rods.
“Al has a proven record over the past 30 years as a businessman in the fishing tackle industry,” said Eposeidon CEO Tate Cui. “His passion and concepts fit perfectly with our vision to keep fishing fun. His fly fishing expertise allows us to expand into more fly fishing opportunities and new product categories.”
