Fly fishing specialist, Guideline, has introduced a new range of luggage for 2014 that exudes the kind of quality the market has come to expect from the Scandinavian manufacturer.
Light, strong and waterproof, the items in the range meet the usual requisites of outdoor gear, with the additional benefit that each bag has been reinforced to ensure equipment is safe when travelling.
The Guideline Large Gear Bag is a good example of the practicality incorporated into the range. A moulded bottom and rigid, shock-proof frame surround a padded interior with adjustable dividers that can be adapted to meet specific needs.
There are four large zippered mesh pockets on the inside of the lid and a further padded and zippered pocket that will take a computer or other extras. A neoprene handle and a removable, padded shoulder strap provide options for carrying.
The Large Gear Bag measures 45cm by 35cm by 20cm, with a capacity of 30 litres.
The more capacious Guideline Large Roller Bag is designed for longer trips and expeditions. A reinforced bottom plate, double protection rails and heavy-duty wide roller wheels that won’t fail on gravel surfaces make it ideal for travelling. It is also equipped with carry-and-pull handles made from strong webbing on the sides and ends.
The bag offers a very generous 150 litres of storage space, making it one of the largest on the market and roomy enough, says Guideline, to hold a four-piece. Compression straps can be adjusted to keep contents in place when it isn’t fully packed.
An oversized lid protects the main zipper, which has lockable sliders. There is also a transparent, weatherproof external pocket. Inside, a reflective liner helps with visibility and there are are three more spacious mesh pockets.
Grey with black and orange details, the bag measures 83cm by 44cm by 42cm and at 4.2kg is surprisingly light for its size.
Other items in the new luggage range include the Guideline Duffel bag and the Guideline Reelbag.
