New hires at PRADCO Outdoor Brands, AFFTA and Flambeau

PRADCO Outdoor Brands (POB), the leading US lure manufacturer, has appointed Kim French as its Vice President of Sales.
French has been in the POB sales organisation for more than 19 years and is a former Sales Manager for its fishing division and for Moultrie, its largest outdoor brand. In both positions he helped achieve record sales. Most recently he has been the company’s Director of National Accounts.
In his new role French will oversee all areas of POB’s sales efforts and will be relocating to the group’s headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.
“I am delighted that Kim has agreed to accept the Vice President of Sales role,” said POB President Robert Schoenvogel. “Kim is a true leader and is a PRADCO veteran. He is a terrific ambassador for all our brands and is excited to lead the sales team to new levels of performance and effectiveness.”
• The American Fly Fishing Trade Association has hired Jess McGlothlin as its new Communications Director. She replaces Becky Edwards, who left the organisation in August. AFFTA President, Ben Bulis said: “McGlothlin is no stranger to the fly fishing industry and her dedication and passion for the trade is evident in her work.”
She joins the Bozeman, Montana-based association and organiser of the IFTD show from Orvis where she was an outdoor copywriter. It was a position that evolved to take in a host of special projects and photography assignments that included shoots in Belize, New York and Alaska.
She has a strong history as a freelance writer and photographer and has had her own company, Jess McGlothlin Media, since 2009. She will continue to grow her business while working with AFFTA.
A background that includes speciality fly shop, outdoor retail, lodge staff management, media development, staff newspaper positions and conservation marketing ensures that she will be able to interface with the demands of her new role.
“I am thrilled to be joining AFFTA at this exciting time,” said McGlothlin. “Our industry is undergoing significant change and there is an opportunity for the fly fishing community as a whole to emerge stronger and more intelligent than ever.”
McGlothlin will be relocating from Vermont to Bozeman in early October.
• Flambeau Outdoors, a leader in fishing tackle storage, has appointed industry veteran Kim Norton as its new Director of Marketing.
Norton brings 25 years of sales and marketing experience within the industry to the Middlefield, Ohio-based company. “As we hone the direction of our iconic outdoor brand I am sure Kim’s leadership will play a crucial role,” said Chris Gurrerei, President of Retail Markets and Packaging Group at Flambeau.
“His broad experience and proven success in developing and marketing products for the outdoor enthusiast make him a real fit.”
Norton was most recently Product Line Manager at outdoor sporting goods retailer, Cabela’s where he was responsible for house-branded product development.
