The most vibrant carp bait market in Europe has a new rising star. Splashbaits, based in the south-west of England, is the latest independent UK bait maker to announce extra investment in production following increased demand for its boilies.
Online sales of Splashbaits Factor VII boilies have been steadily increasing, helped by their stunning successes in testing, including a 43lb carp caught in Germany. The company, which launched 18 months ago, has now moved to a new production facility in anticipation of even greater demand for its baits. It is also actively looking to sign up stockists in the UK as well as Europe’s other major carp fishing markets.
Splashbaits Factor VII is a fishmeal and fruit boilie made with five different milk proteins. It incorporates the classic Robin Red bird seed mix – perhaps the No.1 base ingredient in carp baits – and has a succulent plum scent. It is available in 10mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and 20mm. A larger 22mm will be introduced next year.
Splashbaits co-owner Simon Hollis says: “Factor VII is our biggest seller and is perfect for use all year round. It has already been responsible for several large catches across the United Kingdom and Europe. It is available in freezer baits currently but we plan to introduce shelf-life baits in the spring.”
Splashbaits also makes a pop-up mix, groundbaits, pellets and has a new fluoro range in the pipeline.
